¹³ Be strong and act courageously for our people and for the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his eyes.”

¹⁴ Joab and the people who were with him confronted the Arameans in the battle, and the Arameans fled from him.

¹⁵ When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans had fled, they also fled from Joab’s brother Abishai and entered the city. Joab returned to Jerusalem.
